MONEYBOYS

Fei works as a “moneyboy” (prostitute) to financially support his family and is taken under the wing of veteran moneyboy Xiaolai. One night, Fei is assaulted by a john. Xiaolai decides to avenge his lover but the confrontation leaves Xiaolai seriously hurt. Fei panics when he doesn’t hear from Xiaolai and leaves the city. Five years later, Fei has rebuilt his life as a moneyboy in the city. Hearing about his grandfather’s illness, Fei reunites with his family. His family, however, doesn’t accept him. All except Long, a young villager who admires him. Long joins Fei in the city and willingly embraces his new life as a moneyboy. The two men fall in love. One night, Fei and Long encounter Xiaolai singing in a restaurant bar. Crippled, Xiaolai lives in poverty with his wife and their two children. The love between him and Fei is still strong, and Long decides to break up with Fei. Fei’s presence becomes so overwhelming that Xiaolai asks him to leave. Desperate and alone, Fei continues his life without any real commitment. A short time later, the police knock on his door…
