The Making of Modern Taiwan aims to find the answer to a question: How Taiwan became the Taiwan of today? Taiwan has long faced issues including declining birthrate, fragmentation of land, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and industrial pollution. From the rising stars in Asia to the outsider of the Four Asian Tigers, what has changed and shaped Taiwan? What problems did the governance teams of different eras face and what political strategies have they made? What problems is Taiwan now facing? Looking for a solution is an ongoing task that Taiwanese in each era must undertake. We may learn from history, ponder on each individual unfinished task.
