After 41-year-old Gao’s business fails overseas, his girlfriend breaks up with him. He attempts to commit suicide by hanging himself, but the rope breaks. He returns to Taiwan to have a few last words with his family. There he discovers tensions between his parents due to extramarital affairs. His adopted younger brother is well loved in the family, but has always stayed distant from him. His 30-year-old sister barely works in the family breakfast shop, and her current date is terrible in Gao’s opinion.

“Are you satisfied with your life so far?”

Gao may not be able to give an affirmative answer to the question. However, his annoying family offers another perspective to him in life.

It’s a story of a middle-age loser who tries to reclaim his life. We only live once, and he is still alive.
