Mickey On The Road

Mickey and Gin Gin are best friends. One is a performer for a temple, the other a go-go dancer. Mickey wants to find her dad, who left for China a decade ago. Gin Gin wants to find Jay, her crush, who moved to Guangzhou. The two set off in search of the missing men in their lives. But as luck would have it, Mickey and Gin Gin lose their luggage in Guangzhou. Without a dime to their names, they meet a migrant worker who takes them in for the night, but are later thrown back out onto the streets over a misunderstanding. Eventually, Gin Gin finds Jay, and Mickey locates the factory where her father supposedly works… At the end, under Guangzhou’s night sky, the pair hop on a motorcycle taxi and head toward the misty, winding highway—still on the road, but no longer searching.
