Secrets of 1979

Secrets of 1979 brings the audience back to the White Terror period in Taiwan, and a secret story around political and homosexual taboos during the Formosa Island incident. In the summer of 1979, Bīng-kuan asks her college friend Shu-lan to help out on her family’s banana plantation. As time goes by, the two girls develop a secret romantic relationship. Later, they volunteer at the Formosa Magazine to promote freedom of expression, but their budding romance is cut short by the suppression of dissidents under Martial Law…
