Taiwanese-Korean mixed-blood high school boy LEE Gwang-yong finds himself stuck between his two identities. At home, Gwang-yong must face his father, who has been fighting for the rights and interests of Hwagyo (overseas Chinese). From time to time, his father tells him in Chinese to “never lose your roots”. Despite the conflicts in Gwang-yong’s life, there is still a girl who does not care about his identity. She touches his heart, helping him to temporarily leave his predicament behind. But just as Gwang-yong appears ready to secure an overseas scholarship, an unexpected accident shatters his family. Can Gwang-yong put the pieces of his life back together again?
