Q series II

Q series is dedicated to promoting Taiwanese literature, cultivating new acting talents, developing new and diversified genres, and making a mark in the local television and film industry. Q series brings together eight original stories, both fiction and non-fiction, which were adapted into screenplays by a screenwriting team. Finally, eight award-winning and renowned filmmakers were invited to direct the TV shows. The eight shows that were produced during the first round of the Q series project in 2016 received nine of Taiwan’s prestigious Golden Bell Awards, including two awards for Best Television Series. Now, the second iteration of Q series is underway, once again training a new team of aspiring actors and bringing in major directors to create a collection of eight television shows, all adapted from stories written by Taiwanese authors. With a mind to promote a diversity of local Taiwanese voices, the television shows will center on four coupled story genres: Horror & Supernatural, Mystery & Suspense, Love & Coming Age, and Historical & Biographical. Aiming to preserve and represent Taiwan’s unique culture and history through this pioneering creative project, the Q series is set to launch a television renaissance — a tender revolution.
