Q Series

Q Series is dedicated to promoting Taiwanese literature, cultivating new acting talents, developing new and diversified genres, and making a mark for the local television and film industry. Q Series brought together eight original stories, both fiction and non-fiction, that were adapted into screenplays and directed by eight award-winning and renowned filmmakers. Among the eight shows that were produced during the first round of the Q Series project in 2016, the shows received nine of Taiwan’s prestigious Golden Bell Awards, including two awards for Best Television Series.

Now, the second iteration of Q Series is underway, once again training a new cast of aspiring actors and bringing in major directors to create a collection of eight television shows, all adapted from stories written by Taiwanese authors. With a mind to promote a diversity of local Taiwanese voices, the television shows will center on four coupled story genres: Horror & Supernatural, Mystery & Suspense, Love & Coming of Age, and Historical & Biographical. Aiming to preserve and represent Taiwan’s unique culture and history through this pioneering creative project, the Q Series is set to mark a renaissance in television history with a gentle revolution.
