The concept of “Floating Isle, VR Gallery” at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts draws its inspiration from a sandbar, located off Taiwan’s southwestern coast. A tower-shaped art museum is built on this shifting sandbar. Here, visitors can control their own digital avatars to explore the virtual world at their leisure, interacting with functions, such as teleportation and taking selfies to add fun touches to their experience.
In the “experience area”, visitors can enjoy various VR services within the virtual gallery, including five artworks by Taiwanese artists collected from the museum, and can enter “the VR room in VR,” fully immersing themselves in the feature of Taiwanese artists’ new media artwork. This creates a unique artistic journey, connecting visitors directly with the artists and their masterpieces.
