A GIRL OUT OF THE COUNTRY

Returning home can be more challenging than one could ever imagine.

Feng, raised in the countryside, leaves her grandmother and younger brother behind to pursue a singing career in Taipei. However, she gets trafficked to Japan as a prostitute. Upon her return, she discovers her grandmother suffering from dementia. Consumed by guilt, Feng returns to her former profession in Taipei’s brothels, secretly sending money home to make amends. Years later, her brother, now a police officer, is disheartened to find her working in a brothel.
