A SKETCH IN SCARLET

Adapted from Taiwan′s first-ever random murder case, seemingly harmless woman Chen Lin Shufen ruthlessly killed seven children, shocking the entire nation when the case came to light.
Wang Yuexue, a psychology professor studying in the USA, aims to leverage her expertise in criminal psychology to connect with the female death row prisoner Shufen. Her goal is to analyze Shufen′s motives behind the killings, laying the foundation for crime prevention.
In addition to dealing with prison authorities, Yuexue must also cope with school interference and the scheming of her colleague, Xie Wenzhe. Overwhelmed by the case, Yuexue repeatedly witnesses supernatural phenomena like bloodstains, crime scenes, and appearances of the victims, leaving her unable to distinguish between illusions and reality.
Fortunately, with the support of her assistant and lover, Jingfang, Yuexue not only embarks on a long journey to Shuidiliao for investigation but also clarifies her thoughts.
However, the significant secret hidden in Yuexue′s heart is eventually uncovered by Shufen upon their first meeting. As Yuexue exits the prison, she startlingly realizes that she and Shufen share an inexplicable resemblance.
