Since 1952, hundreds of European missionaries have come to Taiwan and devoted their lives to Eastern Taiwan. Many of them settled down and humbly dedicated their lives to helping others for more than half a century. This includes the European priest Yves MOAL from Missions Étrangères de Paris, Gabriel DÉLÈZE from Congrégation du Grand-Saint-Bernard, and Josef EUGSTER from Societas Missionaria de Bethlehem. This documentary series aims to rebuild this forgotten history in Taiwan. These European priests who come from foreign missions delved into indigenous tribes, learned indigenous languages and culture, worked with local people to develop the tribes, and took care of vulnerable groups. All of these stories are important to Taiwan’s history but are known by very few people.
