“Only when you’re willing to help others to succeed with your old injuries will you qualify as a coach.” This is a story of LIN Sheng-hsiang, a modern pentathlon coach who has learned to tear and heal.

「當你願意用自己的傷痕成就別人，你才可能成為一個合格的教練。」這是林生祥的故事，一個現代五項教練學會凝視自己傷口撕裂和癒合的故事。

Twenty years ago, LIN Sheng-hsiang was a successful athlete who enjoyed the glamour and glory in sports, who was once a child abandoned by the education system due to his unimpressive academic performance. LIN has redeemed himself in the modern pentathlon, an obscure sport in Taiwan. Now as a coach, LIN tries his best to serve disadvantaged children who have a similar background to his own.He met CHEN You-hsuan, a talented young girl from a remote village in eastern Taiwan. LIN has dedicated himself and all the resources he could find to training You-hsuan. He hopes that if he manages to help You-hsuan qualify for the Olympic Games, he will realize his dream of bringing the Taiwanese modern pentathlon team onto the international stage. Nevertheless, everything seems to be going against his wishes.

二十餘年前作為選手，林生祥叱咤賽場，這個曾經因為不會念書被體制放棄的孩子，在臺灣最冷門的現代五項運動裡得到救贖；二十年後作為教練，林生祥努力地想借用自己的經驗拯救跟他背景相近的弱勢孩子。

這一年，他在臺灣東部偏鄉遇上充滿天分的小女孩陳佑萱。林生祥盡可能把自己的資源與精力都奉獻在陳佑萱的訓練上，他滿懷希望地以為將陳佑萱送進奧運，將會是他實現將台灣現代五項推上國際舞台夢想的最大機會。然而事與願違，時間、金錢、制度與少女的⻘春期，一切都在跟他作對。林生祥從來沒想過，他在現代五項裡所能面臨最殘酷嚴格的考驗，原來現在才正要開始。
