It is in early summer when Wei runs from home and follows his uncle to Tainan to help with his field research. During a temple fair, he accidentally disrupts the parade, causing huge trouble. But his clumsiness allows him to meet Jing, a member of the temple’s Ba-Jia-Jiang troupe who finds Wei amusing and decides that he is to be Wei’s interviewee. After spending some time with Jing, Wei realizes that he has grown fond of him and his endless, unrestrained energy. A Taiwanese summer consists of scorching sun and huge amounts of sweat. For the Jia-Jiang troupe members and the field research team, however, there is another indispensable component–each other’s presence. Hot as the sun may be, these restless young hearts are even warmer.
