Break Free

Break Free is a dance drama about three B-Boys and two B-Girls from very different backgrounds living in the vibrant city of Taipei as they come together to train as a crew for the first ever breaking event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The story follows the friendships and romantic relationships between these crew members as they handle the intense physical and emotional stress of being an Olympic athlete, all while juggling struggles in their personal lives (such as their relationships with their parents, past traumas, and their sense of self and life direction).

Themes explored include love, family and sacrifice, female empowerment, identity and self-expression, individuality vs. community, the sport vs. art of breaking, and the rich history and culture of street dance.
