Dragon Superman Trilogy, directed by Japanese filmmaker KOBAYASHI Satoru and featuring a local crew including Taiwanese filmmaker SHAO Lo-hui, is a Taiwanese-language film based on the 1960 Japanese film “Maboroshi Tantei: Chiteijin Shûrai”. This trilogy holds significance as it marks the inception of Taiwan’s tokusatsu productions. After Dragon Superman’s release in February 1968, it became a blockbuster phenomenon. This prompted the original team to swiftly produce two sequels, Moonlight Superman and Skyfly Superman scheduled for release in the middle and end of the same year respectively.
