After World War II, the Kuomintang (KMT) government received Taiwan and imposed martial law, leading to nearly four decades of the “White Terror.” During this period, any action, speech, or even thought could be criminalized, leaving the people living in constant fear of psychological oppression and self-censorship.
Echoes in the lost pages is Taiwan’s first interview program dedicated to political victims and their families. By pursuing historical truth, it aims to rekindle the human spirit of resilience and solidarity that emerged during the struggle against authoritarianism in the process of democratization.
