GOOD NEIGHBORS (2K RESTORATION)

The Chen family, new arrivals from China, open a traditional-medicine clinic beside the Ng family’s Western one. Their polite smiles hide small frictions in language, customs and how they heal a patient. Everything shifts when the younger generation falls for one another, pushing both families to face their differences and clear a chain of mix-ups before love finally wins. An early work by LEE Hsing, the film blends Taiwanese and Mandarin dialogue with comedy to portray family ties, cultural tension and the warm, hopeful spirit of postwar Taiwan learning to live together.
