Xiao-mu is a bright 13-year-old girl with the same dreams and insecurities as most teens today. Xiao-mu lives in the hopelessly polluted world of 2076.
Xiao-mu enjoyed creating stories and games with her father, a lowly environmental engineer, as a child. After his mysterious death, Xiao-mu’s personality goes from lively to lifeless. Desperate to heal, Xiao-mu enters a subconscious AI simulation of a fantasy card game they used to play — HIDDEN IN THE PEACH BLOSSOM GARDEN — a fantastic environment of ancient landscapes populated by intelligent plant/animal hybrids: planimals.
Xiao-mu meets the Spring King: one of four seasonal rulers of this mythical world locked in battle with their mortal enemy, Entropy — the physical and psychological aggregate of the world’s garbage. Yet there’s more to Entropy than meets the eye. Is Entropy the end of the world or the answer to Xiao-mu’s questions?
