This film explores Taiwan’s unique military dependents’ village literature, using stories and interviews to reflect on identity, memory, and the legacy of migration.

Military Dependents’ Village Literature is both a cultural legacy of Taiwan and a unique voice of those who lived in the villages.
This film uses a rich literary lens to revisit the experiences of the Mainlander community over the past 70 years. Featuring excerpts from major works and interviews with prominent first- and second-generation writers—including Lo Fu, Chang Mo, Ya Hsien, Pai Hsien-yung, Chi Pang-Yuan, and more—the film combines interviews, archival footage, photos, and music to capture the everyday life and emotional landscape of the villages.
It invites audiences to reflect on identity, memory, and belonging through the power of literature.
