Under the impact of the global pandemic, Ah Xun, who subsequently lost his job, came back to live with his grandfather. They lived in an old apartment with a peculiar long narrow passageway.
Ah Xun had a heart transplant 2 years ago; he survived via the new heart, yet he couldn’t escape from events that had a huge impact on his life. First, the house he grew up in caught fire, and then the unprecedented pandemic broke out. During the days at his grandfather’s house, Ah Xun kept facing new changes in life: An ex-lover’s reappearance, an encounter with mixed-race siblings, his mother’s fatal disease, his sister’s nervous breakdown, the drug trouble brought upon by his best friend, and finally, the news of his grandfather’s infection.
When starting to lose hope for the future, Ah Xun received a request from the heart donor’s family, for listening to the sound of his heartbeat. Via the sound recording, Ah Xun, for the first time, heard his heartbeat and a subtle feeling emerged in his mind.
One day, Ah Xun received a call from the restaurant he used to work for. They asked him to come back to perform music for the reopening. Ah Xun picked up the guitar that was left untouched for a while. The sound of the instrument began echoing through the long narrow passageway.
