To escape the hustle and bustle of urban life and the high pressure from his mother, talented designer A-le decides to move to the mountains with his wife, Ann, and is determined to build their environmentally friendly “cob house.” However, as the construction has just begun, A-le accidentally unearths an unidentified urn of ashes, setting off a series of strange occurrences.
Although his grandmother passed away, his mother still refuses to have any contact with the family. A-le experiences physical discomfort while building the house, and a peculiar white spider crawls out of his ear. His mother brings a Taoist priest to the mountain to perform rituals to seal the urn. Finally, even Ann, who tries various body-mind-spirit therapies to heal the chaos, reaches her breaking point and has an emotional outburst.
The trio plunges into unprecedented chaos, and a karmic storm is about to erupt.
