Listening to the Heart of the Earth

Listening to the Heart of the Earth is an animated short film that combines the unique elements of Hualien’s local history, ethnic culture, natural landscapes, and indigenous mythology. The story is based on the legend of the giant “Arigagai” on Meilun Mountain, and depicts a fantasy battle between human beings and nature to find reconciliation and co-existence. Set along Yanhai Forest Road and Asia Cement’s Mount Xincheng Quarry, the film reflects on contemporary concerns about ecological and environment issues.
