Many millennia ago, humans, deities, and devils coexisted. As outrageous competitions between deities and devils jeopardized humans, the Creator under rage sealed their capabilities into human brains via destruction. They would only be triggered by human choices, which would lead to elevation or degradation in humanity.

A metropolis in Asia is undergoing a renovation plan. Lot 1314, in particular, is designed to build ideal residences. However, rows of old apartments still stand in the area. Residents come from mixed backgrounds, and thefts and looting abound. Two criminal detectives have opposing ideas about this lot. Li Xiang hopes the city can progress, and insists on tearing down apartments with an iron fist, in order to rebuild for a better life. He is willing to complete demolition at all costs. Bai Bing Wei, on the other hand, prioritizes humanity and attachment. He cannot withstand how law enforcement may break residents.

A series of evil criminal cases have happened in the city. Innocent victims are mutilated. Murderers are once spider goblins, centipede spirits, cat demons, or women with traumatic pasts. They are fighting against destiny.

Journalist Kui Lan assists two officers to solve these cases, and they discover everything is related to Lot 1314 acquisition. Li Xiang’s father hires a team to confirm precious rare earth metals underneath the lot. He uses Bai Bing Wei to turn against Li Xiang, but Bai Bing Wei doesn’t know that his love, Die Zi, will be sacrificed. In order to stop the acquisition plan by his father, Li Xiang chooses a despicable tactic, so devils will fight each other. It seems that a mysterious force is in control of everything. Is that the incantation from millennia ago?

When deities or devils can be triggered by human decisions, will individuals sacrifice themselves for the collective good? Will humans unconsciously become devils in their lust for power?
