Stories of hardship faced by Taiwan’s remote fisheries. This film is dedicated to the lonely laborers who drift on the sea.

Beginning in the 1960s, young indigenous people in Taiwan left their tribes and flocked to cities for jobs. A group of them went to distant fisheries and took cabins as homes, drifting and fishing on the sea. Decades after, the indigenous crews became the main labor force of Taiwan’s distant fisheries. These are the stories of the tears they shed and the hardships they endured for survival at a turning point in Taiwan’s history.
