This is an anthology film of three doumentary shorts about adolescence by three female directors. Girl Talk: A girl once seen as a victim confronts the narrow views society holds about her; through conversations with the director, she reveals the strength she has gained in healing herself and the courage to face society’s prejudice and gaze. Piercing Water: In Lanyu, a young man returns home after leaving military service, struggling to recover from bullying by his peers from the main Taiwan island, while the lingering shadow of displacement continues to affect Indigenous youth. Myanmar Girls: In Myanmar, under a repressive military regime, two teenage girls prepare for exams to study in Taiwan and pursue the safer future their families have planned for them. They dream about what lies ahead, yet still question what freedom truly means.
