Forensic pathologist YANG Jing-hao, about to give birth, returns to her long-lost hometown to investigate the mysterious murder of a teenage girl. The victim happens to be her own daughter from a past student-teacher relationship. Despite her grief, Jing-hao perseveres in the search for the truth. However, her classmate Xiang-min, aiming to protect her daughter, one of the suspects, severs ties with Jing-hao. The daughter’s adoptive mother also strongly condemns Jing-hao. Reflecting on the past where she competed with her friend for the love of the teacher and ultimately left her daughter behind, Jing-hao can’t help but question herself. Is her relentless pursuit of truth for her daughter’s sake, or is it to mend the regrets of her own past?
