A young part-timer and a housewife living in the same apartment building bond over their partners’ mental illnesses.

Meeting at a 24/7 diner every night, they lose themselves in conversation—talking about themselves, their partners, mental illness, life and death, and the guilt that shadows it all. The bond between them transcends friendship, yet they dare not take a step further.

One day, they take a trip up to the mountain meadows to unwind. Together, they run, share cigarettes, and gaze at one another. 
            
Ironically, this quiet sanctuary makes them better partners at home, as their secret companionship improves their respective relationships. As the guilt intensifies, they find themselves disoriented, yearning to stand in an infinite prairie, free of borders, free of pain, where they can finally breathe.
