Salt Village has aged, and only the elderly remain. Children who have moved away entrust spare keys to the local police station, asking the only policeman, Officer GU, to care for their elderly parents. Officer GU is on the verge of forgetting that he is a police officer, feeling more like a caretaker instead. One day, the elderly gather by the pond, not to enjoy the scenery but to gaze at the lifeless body of Dr. ZHANG, whom they unanimously believe fell into the pond accidentally while being chased by wild dogs—what a pity. However, Officer GU suspects that this is a murder case.
鹽村老了，留在村裡的只剩老人。移居外地的孩子會在派出所放一份備用鑰匙，請派出所唯一的警察阿顧協助照顧長輩。舉凡水管阻塞、假牙不見都是他的業務範圍。日復一日，阿顧快要忘記自己是個警察，反倒像幫傭。一天，老人們聚集在埤塘旁，注視著溺斃的張醫生，眾人一致認為張醫生是被野狗追，不慎摔進埤塘裡。而阿顧卻認為，這是個謀殺案。
