In 1985, a gunshot shatters a dazzling stage performance, uncovering fifteen years of love, betrayal, and buried secrets. Fifteen years earlier, Wen-Hsiung, Ching-Shui, and Mei-Hsia leave their rural hometown for Taipei, chasing dreams of stardom. Under the guidance of cabaret owner Da-Yeh, they enter the glittering world of music and live entertainment. Wen-Hsiung becomes an overnight sensation but loses himself to fame and ambition. Ching-Shui is lured into the criminal underworld, while Mei-Hsia falls victim to the violence and corruption of those in power. As their dreams unravel, friendship, love, and loyalty are torn apart, leaving them to confront the price of ambition in a rapidly changing Taiwan.
