Xing is an antique dealer. He is selfish and loves money. When he touches an object, he can see its memories and even the spirits attached to it. He has one rule: he never looks the spirits in the eye. If they see him, they follow him.
Xing grew up in a temple. His grandfather claimed he could talk to the gods. But the old man turned out to be a fraud. The believers came to demand their money back. Xing’s grandfather died while escaping, and he left Xing a large debt. Xing stopped believing in the gods.
Now Xing works for a gang that smuggles antiques. One night, a smuggled coffin washes up on the beach. Inside is an old mask. When Xing touches it, he sees a warrior being burned alive by his own village. The warrior looks into his eyes. The demon in the mask is now free. It hides inside people and eats their memories.
Xing must stop it. No god will save them. Xing must find the strength inside himself.
