Chishang, the unofficial rice capital, is renowned for its unspoiled views of rice fields, making it one of the unique scenic areas in Taiwan. This documentary follows a group of people committed to preserving their hometown’s beauty. Director HSIAO Chu-chen and her team spent two years filming the industrial transformation of a traditional rice milling factory. Mr. LEUNG, the first person to start growing organic rice, is the heir to the rice milling factory. He organized events and festivals to promote the scientific methods of growing rice to the old farmers and received government certification to prove the quality of Chishang rice.
