After a powerful typhoon floods the remote village of Chunding, a headless corpse is discovered—soon followed by many more. With no history of murder, local police chief Luo is unprepared, and city detective Silvia is sent in as landslides cut the village off from the outside world. What seems to be a serial killing unravels into something darker: the bodies were desecrated after death, linked to a hidden belief system obsessed with eradicating the “unnatural.” As superstition spreads and fear takes hold, Silvia’s faith in science is tested, and Luo is drawn into a secret cult embedded within the community. When violence returns, Silvia must face a chilling question: can truth survive when belief begins to shape reality?
