After struggling with compulsive gambling and alcoholism and being diagnosed with liver cancer, Ah-ming spent his final days in the palliative care unit of Dongliu Garden. Despite his condition, he organized various games and gambling activities to bring joy and honesty to his remaining time. He even placed bets on the morphine he would need, the speed of wheelchair races, and the date of his death. Ah-ming’s heroic spirit touched the hearts of those around him, including a six-year-old child named Xiao-qing, who had just arrived at the unit. Ah-ming told Xiao-qing that the team was a hero-training base where everyone fought monsters. Surprisingly, all the other patients joined in this beautiful game, creating a supportive community in their final days.
