Before World War II, Taiwan’s music scene experienced a golden age with the release of 500 records, most of which contained popular songs depicting romantic love and reflecting the emotional liberation of the lower classes. This modern era has been almost forgotten with the passage of time, with only the creators’ descendants quietly cultivating the market, clinging to fragmented memories. How do these unseen figures cry out against the dust of the times? Can they, along with their descendants, redefine the value of assets? Who exactly are they? We attempt to record this chapter of this era’s musical passport.
