GAO Yi-Jun challenged VR virtual reality animation for the first time and completed the VR360 animation short film Statue of Distress in 2018, which was selected for the Animafest Zagreb international competition unit. The interactive VR animation VR Crime Series produced by him was also selected for proposals by industry platforms such as VR Days at the Rotterdam Film Festival (IFFR) and Mifa Pitches.
