The Butterfly Mansion, notoriously known for its horror hearsay, is called “the most haunting building in Taipei.” There’s an accident in which a rice dumpling vendor got killed by a person jumping off the building. Rumor even has it that the dead neighbors linger in the corridors. The Butterfly Mansion is haunted by numerous frightening stories. However, many people still choose to reside here because of the cheap rents, forming a complicated environment. The Butterfly Mansion is thus covered in a dread atmosphere and becomes a suicide hotspot.
The story begins with a woman in white jumping off the Butterfly Mansion.
Chen Wei, who is along with her daughter, seeks refuge from her violent husband by moving into the Butterfly Mansion. She soon learns the stories of the Mansion and the forbidden door of Room 613. Later, Chen Wei discovers the strange behaviors of her neighbors, and her daughter starts talking to the walls alone. The eerie feeling terrifies her until a substitute superintendent, Xiao Liang, walks into her life. However, as the Chinese ghost month unfolds, the worlds of the dead and the living connect. The opening of the forbidden door of Room 613 is about to intertwine more unexpected and supernatural horror events within the Butterfly Mansion. Chen Wei, meanwhile, is getting herself involved in a greater crisis.
