Zheng-gang had a failed marriage at an early age. He left everything behind and moved to Japan. His unknown son, Jie, went to study in Japan. This secret was bound to be exposed when Zheng-gang confronted his remarried wife. Hai-ling grew up spoiled and married a Taiwanese guy out of defiance. However, bored with monotonous marital life, she became attracted to the flirtatious charms of her supervisor, Yokoyama. During that time, she discovered she was pregnant. Her mother, Yuko sat on the sidelines, knowing her daughter would face challenges.
