Zane, a 10-year-old boy from Indonesia, finds himself in the role of caretaker as he helps his parents, Ela and Ricky, overcome the scars of their pasts. The family’s struggles with identity and trauma play out against the backdrop of their new life in Taiwan, where they grapple with the alienation of being outsiders. Zane’s quiet strength holds them together, even as he comes to terms with his own understanding of family and home. Meanwhile, other migrants like Melati, Nita, and Pindy are also alone in their journeys, each navigating their own paths through the complexities of migration, yet Zane’s story remains at the heart of the film as he embarks on a journey of emotional growth and healing. As Zane and Ela participate in a local radio program, they reflect on their experiences and what it means to truly belong in a world that feels both familiar and distant.
