Inspired by Taiwan’s first female dismemberment murder case, the story refracts the martial law era through the perspective of ordinary people.

During Taiwan’s martial law era, a dismembered female corpse is discovered in a waterway. Detective ZHAO Zi-wu and journalist ZHANG Xiu-xiu start the investigation, only to find General ZHAO—Zi-wu’s own father—implicated as the prime suspect. As nationwide public frenzy and fabricated media coverage intensify, the military police shift their focus to Zi-wu himself, to force a confession from his father. Determined to clear General ZHAO’s name, the duo navigates through layers of deception.
