Taiwan is like a cultural mosaic—its languages, beliefs, foodways, attire, family structures, and rituals each form distinct pieces that reveal surprising connections when placed side by side.
In its ninth season, Kakudan Time Machine is hosted by two young storytellers: Yukan Chang (Atayal, from Datong Township in Yilan) and Ipay Liu (from Taipei). Coming from different worlds, their perspectives diverge, yet their encounters continually spark lively dialogue and unexpected insights. Together, they guide viewers to discover the many moments where cultures may appear different, but feel deeply familiar.
Through on-site stories from Indigenous communities, expert commentary, and reflections from the younger generation, the series uncovers both the contrasts and the similarities that emerge through conversation. Kakudan Time Machine invites audiences to join a journey where cultural diversity and common ground unfold naturally, one story at a time.
